Easy art submission

My kid submitted artwork for the Young Artists Summer Show. It was pretty straightforward online, which was nice. Didn't take too long to do, and the site was easy to figure out.

Reliable for art programs

I've been using Royal Academy resources for my students for a few years now. This time, I got the 'art education toolkits' and signed up for a 'school group tour'. The booking process for the tour was smooth, just like previous years. The toolkits were consistently good quality and arrived quickly. It's why I keep coming back – they're dependable. I appreciate that the free offerings are genuinely useful, not just a teaser. It makes planning art activities for my school much simpler.

Free exhibition access was worth it

I checked out the 'online exhibition access' for the Young Artists Summer Show. It was free, which was the main draw for me. The quality of the digital gallery was decent, and I saw a lot of cool student artwork. For the price (zero!), it was definitely worth a look.

Good resources, slow email response

I ordered the 'teacher resource pack' for my primary school art class. The content itself was really useful and had some fresh ideas. Everything was laid out well. My only gripe was that an email I sent asking for clarification on one of the lesson plans took almost 3 days to get a reply. It wasn't urgent, but still, could be quicker.

How does the RA's Young Artists program compare to something like Tate Kids? What's the main difference?

R Raj 1 month ago
RA is more about an actual juried exhibition for submissions, whereas Tate Kids feels more like general activities and online content for kids to do at home.

B Brett 1 month ago
Yeah, the RA one is a proper exhibition, judged by real artists and shown in a big gallery. Tate Kids is cool for activities but not really for showing actual art like that.

My niece is only 4, can she still submit her drawings for the summer show or is there a minimum age?

J Jared Whitfield 2 months ago
Pretty sure it's 4-19, so she should be good!

Yes, 4 is definitely included. My little cousin (also 4) entered a finger painting last year, haha. So she's within the age range.

Hey, thinking about submitting my kid's art for the Young Artists Summer Show. Is it actually free to enter, or are there hidden fees later on?

S Steve Z. 1 month ago
Yeah, it's totally free to submit. Been that way for years, no catch.

Can confirm, my daughter entered last year and we didn't pay anything. Pretty cool for a big exhibition.

For the physical exhibition, do I need to buy tickets or is it free to just walk in and see the art?

N Nick 1 month ago
The physical exhibition for the young artists is usually free. I just showed up last year.

I think it is free! It's a key part of their program to make art accessible. So no tickets needed to see the kids' art.

Is the Summer Show open to international students, or is it just for kids in the UK?

A Amber 1 month ago
AFAIK, it's just for students studying in the UK. Don't think it's open worldwide.

D David L. 1 month ago
No, it's specifically for students based in the UK. They mention that in their FAQs somewhere.
